The Virginia Fusion Center is sponsoring a session of the Basic Course of the Fusion Liaison Officer Training Program.
What is a Fusion Liaison Officer?
A Fusion Liaison Officer (FLO) is an individual that serves as the main point of contact for their agency and corresponds with the Virginia Fusion Center in matters related to suspicious activity and intelligence. The FLO continues to work for and is under complete control of their parent agency. The VFC supplies the FLO and their agency with a place to exchange information and receive vetted intelligence.
Training Provided:
This training will provide the attendee with information in regards to:
- Domestic and International Terrorism
- General Crime Issues
- Sovereign Citizen
- UAV Threat and Awareness
- Gang Awareness
- Critical Infrastructure Protection
- Suspicious activity reporting
- Information exchange with the Virginia Fusion Center
- Other TBD Topics
Classes generally consist of first responders, DOC, dispatchers, nurses, health and human services, public works, federal partners, private sector partners, as well as many other disciplines.
There is no cost for the training. Class is lecture based. Dress is business casual. Meals are NOT provided, but time will be made available for lunch.
All attendees must bring TWO forms of identification to include your department or corporate credentials/badge prior to sessions. This is due to the sensitive material that will be discussed.
This training is approved for 16 hours of partial in-service credit for Virginia Law Enforcement Officers as well as 8 hours for Crime Prevention Specialist re certification.
